Talking Pensions and More at the BABC British Expats Evening

We were proud to be able to co-sponsor and participate in the Northern California chapter of the British American Business Council’s annual British Expats Evening discussing immigration, tax, credit & retirement matters, which took place in April of this year.

The BABC was able to call upon experts from a variety of Bay Area institutions, including the Bank of the West, CPA firm Spott, Lucey and Wall and immigration specialists E&M Mayock & Associates. Florin Pensions’ founders Emma Cockerton spoke on UK pensions and Charles Cockerton moderated an engaging panel discussion.

When talk turned to UK pensions, we were able to review the new UK pension flexibilities and discuss the consequences for expats of putting pensions into Qualifying Recognized Overseas Pensions Scheme (QROPS) . These are hot topics in the world of expat pensions, and we would encourage all expats to educate themselves about.
